I just got my Edelbrock book on upgrades for 07. They claim to have a muffler that wil make a V6 sound like a V8. Has anybody used these mufflers and is it true? I have a 99 V6 and almost refuse to put a performance muffler on it due to the fact that you will never sound better than a nasty V8 with duel exhaust.

 

If its new for 07 then chances are you are going to have to be the first and tell us all about it.

[X(] i coulda had a v8!! and next theyll be telling me theres a guy turning water into wine.. as with any combo of cylinders, they produce a certain sound this cannot be duplicated by say rearranging pipes or putting a larger coffee can hanging out the back. now dont get me wrong the boys at edelbrock are masters at what they do but there just aint no substitute for cubic inches or a V8. as for soundin whimpy i dont know ive heard alot of 4 cyl that will leave a v8 crying. as for v6's, ever heard of a buick regal GNX yup its a v6 or chevys typhoon or cyclone all v6's that ate v8 corvettes and others for breakfast. so if its just making it louder and not cause it has performance mods now or in the near future i personally find it as useless as the local honda with the 12 inch coffee can poking out the *** end. loud annoying and commands no respect spend the money on true horse power for dollars items and the sound you seek will simply be a natural byproduct kurt

 

My brother purchased a product claiming the same thing a few years ago for his firebird. it sounded horrible.

 

my buddy either has that or a flowmaster on his mustang. it sounds like a v8 up to about 3grand, then starts to sound more like a v6. another kid has one on his 3.8, doesnt sound too bad. and yet another has a regular old flowmaster 40 series on his 4.3 blazer, and it sound just like the mustang and firebird
