Default Driver's side window

I have a 2001 Camaro 3.8L convertible and have problems with the driver's window. Appears motor/regulator are ok but window appears to be off the track. Totally out of alignment when raising it. Took door panel off and found a broken stabilizer and corresponding "J" locator piece was also broken. Looks like entire assembly has to be removed. Anyone had any experience? Hate to pay dealer many hundreds of $$$$ to fix. Thanks!

Silver, Is this the piece that connects at the rear portion of the window to the rear guide?

Default RE: Driver's side window

The broken piece has a plastic base that is attached with screws that pass through the window near the bottom. There is a "J" shaped hook attached to it that engages the stabilizer that is screwed on to the top of the inside door panel (there are 2 of them) when the window is up. Looks like the whole thing has to be disassembled to replace the locator piece. That is not the only problem as the window binds on the way up and had to be guided by hand to fully close.
Motor works fine- seems to be strictly an alignment problem
