driver side window
my driver side window goes up and down slower than normal, it stops and then i have to wait a few minutes to put it up and it still doesnt go up all the way, wait a few minutes more and it will go up a little more.does anyone know if that is the power window motor or the window regulator or what that would be. thank you for your responses.
Your window motor is stopping because of excess current draw. Once the breaker cools it works again.
Before you go through the hassle of replacing the motor and/or regulator, try this:
With the window down (it's ok the give the motor a little helping hand) look at the track at the front and rear of the window. Make sure the weather stripping isn't tore, pulled out of the track or full of gunk. If it looks good, try getting a little silicone lube down into the track. Work the window up and down and watch what it does. A little rocking fore and aft is normal, but if the rocking is excessive, the window will bind and give you problems.
If you do have excessive rocking of the glass, you're going to have to pop off the door panel and adjust the regulator. If the glass goes up ok with the door open, but not with the door closed, silicone the rubber seal and adjust the stops as needed.
