do tips change the sound?

RE: do tips change the sound?
the material and thickness of the tip can affect the amount of "tinny" sound you get. its just the metal vibrating with the exhaust pulses. but this is just at idle and u need to get close to notice any different. when you get on it its all about the mufflers

u could always goto auto zone and get urself a fart can to change the sound, whats wrong with the way it sounds now? you may think you need it to be louder until u start getting pulled over for it

I drove my mom's S10 from the muffler shop with a single in dual out Flowmaster exiting under the rear bumper. My brother and I decided to put a set of 4" cans on it with the rolled tip like I had on my 84 Z28. I can hear the difference inside the cab of the truck. That rolled lip gives the tone something to bounce off of for a different sound. Kind of the same effect as egg cartons on the walls of a music room.
