anyone know were to go to get rear end casting numbers?i've got a 84 z/28 and want to know what size rear-end it is along with the gear ratio and if it is a posi or a limited slip any help would be helpful the only casting number i can find is under the third member and it reads 22522676

 

[X(] you might try finding the build tag that has the rpo codes the right rpo code will tell you exactly what you have. this label is commonly in the glove compartment or on the spare tire cover but im not sure where its at on the 84 camaro any help guys?? can also use the code from the top of the axle tube if you wanna crawl around let us know kurt

 

thanks for the info but theres no label in the glove box or the spare tire storage so that leaves me with the axel so were would it be and what would it look like

If you would tell us what engine & tranny the car has it will narrow the replies.
Z28 came standard with LG4 and the manual had a 3:23 & optional 3:73 The Auto had a 3:08 & optional 3:23.

The L69 option had a 3:73 for both the manual & auto.

That is the only stock axle ratios that came stock with the Z28 in 1984.
