Default Clicking relay or solenoid in the dash (1979 Z28)??

My daily driver is a 79 Z28 clunker that finds at least ONE new way to get on my nerves almost every day! If it isn't water pouring in around the useless t-tops (dumbest option ever!), then it's some other problem related to grossly poor engineering!

Today, some relay or solenoid behind the dash somewhere started clicking at random. When it 'clicks', the tach needle bounces and it produces static in the speakers for the stereo, but the car still runs normal, the battery is charging, and everything works as far as I can tell!

This car has NO feedback distributor or carb, no EFI, and no ANYTHING that should require any relays or solenoids hidden way up in th dash somewhere...so what is it making all that noise and messing with the tach and radio??

This car is getting parted out and junked as soon as possible...I'm keeping the motor, trans, wheels, rear axle and other small parts,,,but until then, I have to drive it every day!

Anybody have any ideas or experience with silly electrical glitches in these cars?!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in adavance!!!
