Are the brains in a 350 the same as in a 305? tpi 1989.

I don't know if they are the same, but the computer for the 305 coild be programmed to handle a 350.

i ask because my89 iroc 5.7wont start unless i spray carb cleaner in the throtle.and when i bought it my budy said he confused the computer wiyh his buddys comp.so i might have a 305 comp. the car runs good but just wont start on its own.oh.. sometimes it will start in the mornings on its own!!! im confused!! plz help
