Default Anyone with a Gear Vendors under/overdrive unit?

Looking to find feedback on your setup on your car (please specify what gen you have, and tranny as well). What mods were required to install it? Lastly, how do you like it?

I don't personally have a GV unit but I spent a good deal of time researching transmissions to replace my T10. The GV unit itself is very reliable and allows you to split gears but ultimately it has no more overdrive ratio than a TKO600. In addition the GV unit bolts behind your existing transmission so if your current transmission needs work it still will after the GV is installed. After doing a good deal of research I decided to install a brand new T56 Magnum 6 speed which costs exactly the same as the GV unit. I think the GV unit was a good choice for an OD back in the 80's but there are so many high quality new 5 and 6 speed transmissions on the market today that the GV unit is a bit out dated and over priced for today's market. You could spend $2295 for a new TKO600 5 speed, $2895 for a new T56 Magnum 6 speed or $2895 for the GV OD unit and still have to use your old transmission. I chose to go with the T56 and then sold off my T10 to recover some of the cost.

Not a big fan of it because of the cost. It does have its place but not for most general applications.
