Default Overdrive

When I shift into overdrive, it seems to make the RPMs jump about 300 then go to lower RPMs. Is this normal? In my brothers LT1, his just drops when he shifts into Overdrive.

It just does it when engaging OD. Another concern I had was putting it into reverse or drive. It takes a few seconds for it to catch.

if u want it to last longer ease up on the throttle when it shifts to forth. 3to 4 clutches could be getting worn. trany fluid look good. not brownish.

I have this exact problem. In OD my rpms seem a little too highwhen im cruising. Then if I give it some gas it drops about 500rpms like the converter finally locks up. Also when it's cold, it takes a few seconds to go into R or D. When it's already warm it goes right into gear. I changed fluid and filter. No change. This a bad converter?

i think i read somewhere that the hesitation when you shift into R is just the nature of the beast. mine does that to when going into R. but i could be completely wrong here.
