Default AC recharging issue.

I hope someone can help me with this.
I attempted to recharge the AC on my 98 camaro today. As I was doing this I suddenly noticed that a hose was leaking. Basically leaking out all the AC I was putting in I guess. I don't know what the hose is called but it hooks to something right under the Alternater and it goes back to the firewall of the car. It appears to have clamps at both ends and segments of the hose are rubber then aluminum and back to rubber.

Can someone tell me what this hose is?

Thank you.

Its an A/c line. If it goes to the firewall and then to the compressor it will be the suction or low pressure side. If it were to go from the compressor to the front of the car to the radiator type of thing in front of the acctual radiator then it would be the high pressure discharge side.

Thanks,
I made a mistake. The leak I noticed was coming from my high preasure AC line. I thought it was coming from a hose that was next to my high preasure line but infact that hose was the hose that caused my leak. It gets hot and because it was touching my high preasure AC line it melted a hole in it. I took some high preasure rubber hose and rapped it around the leaking AC line and clamped it down. I think I have it fixed now. I will probably have to replace that AC line someday.

Yes you will have to replace it some day. There are places around here (Fluid Tech, Hose and Fitting) that can repair the line. What they do is remove the old hose and install a new piece and crimp it on like it is now. Many A/C shops could do it also. Its some times cheaper than the whole new line.
