92 rs to z28 Rearend swap

Default 92 rs to z28 Rearend swap

i want to know if one, the z28 rearend is posi traction, and two, if it would be worth changing out the ends?... i plan on buying a new(er) engine or building mine up.. i just need some input

some of them are. it was an option. look on the RPO codes for the code G80(limited slip) and i think it is worth it seenin as how ull have both tires getting power instead of 1.

Well if you are buying the Z28 rear axle I would open it up and check what gear ratio (stamped on OD of dr gear) and check for a Limited slip ( check picture). I would not waste the money if it is a 2:73 like the one in the RS. They are both 10-bolts and will bolt right in. You did not give a lot of info on the Z28 rear axle to really give you a good opinion if it is worth it. Ratio, brakes and etc.

i havent had a chance to get to it yet. sorry. but thanks again. what is the better ratio on the z's rear?

Only ratios available (year unknown) that are improvement are 3:23 & 3:42 (10-bolt)....
