'91 Camaro - low oil pressure
I'm back!
Finally had this taken care of. Went to a shop, which came highly recommended from a couple of places, and the guy said that he was going to check the pressure with a gauge to see what it really was.
In the end, turns out the problem was the oil pressure switch on the send unit. Funny - on the bill it's listed twice - 1st as above, and 2nd as 'oil pressure sender'. Regardless, the part was $35.88, plus 1hr. of labor @ $70 - $112.23 w/tzx. AFAIC, not bad at all. Could have been much worse.
So now my question is - believe it or not, I just thought of this now - should I have some other kind of test done to see if there is any internal engine damage? Again, there is no noise/knocking/scraping/nothing, but if there is such a test, I might want to do it to be sure. Does such a test exist?
Thanks!

Yes, it's called taking the engine apart and inspecting all the pieces.
Where is your oil pressure at now? A true low oil pressure reading is one tell-tale sign of engine wear. The other is noise. If both of those are fine, I'd leave it at that and get some sleep.

Where it was before - 60 when I start the engine in the morning, and when I nail the accelerator, 40-ish while driving normally, and 20-ish when idling at nomal operating temp. No noise.
Ok, going to bed now.
