Default 69 camaro starting problem

Hi, My 69 camaro has a starting problem. Car has a 350, 4 speed. Car won't start unless I run a jumper wire to coil when cranking. Car turns over fine, runs fine. I measured a significant voltage drop (down to about 4 volts) when cranking. What died? I replaced voltage regulator. No go. Where do I go next? any help will be appreciated.

if you jumped the coil you eliminated the resistnce wire if this is an original wiring set up check for loose or damaged wire coming off coil
i always say check thebasics good luck

Default RE: 69 camaro starting problem

Ihad a new Pertronix which ran fine after installation. I repaced the coil, no change. I swapped out the distributor with an HEI I had taken off the car when I bought it. No change. I pulled the starter last night and had it checked today. it draws about 145 amps which is within specs. I will probably start gointg down the line from the small wire off the positive cable next and check voltage in and voltage out while cranking unless someone has a better idea. It's hard to do all this by myself. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
