68 Camaro no start, no spark
I decided to do a tune up on my 68 Camaro 250 6 Cylinder including wires, plugs, points, condenser, cap & rotor.
I put everything back together and the car will not start. there is no spark from the coil.
I set the points at .19 to spec, and tried to get a spark by putting a piece of paper between the points. Still no spark.
The only thing i can think of is that I forgot to turn off the ignition switch when I was changing the points and there were some sparks, but I don't see how that would affect it.
I have been working on it for hours, and am no newcomer to working on cars, although I have not worked on a points ignition in years. this is kicking my a@@....
Is there anything elseI can check or may be missing?
By the way the coil is also new. And I tried all of the old parts to eliminate the new ones being bad.

RE: 68 Camaro no start, no spark
[8D] todd we need to start with some basics does the pos side of the coil have 12 volts to it with key on?? what does it have while cranking, next a dwell meter will need to be used to not only check dwell but to set it as well( initial gap will get you close but only a meter should be used to verify dwell) i believe some of the generals early stuff may have used a fusible link at the starter solenoid to provide full 12 volts during cranking( one of the reasons for the coil voltage test) try these and get back to us kurt

RE: 68 Camaro no start, no spark
I finally figured it out...... The terminal that connects to the points from the distibutor was grounded to the distributor body....
Boneheaded mistake....[:@]
