Default 5 point racing harness

I've always installed them with cars that have either a roll bar or roll cage. What is the propper way to install a 5 point harness w/o one. I'm concerned about the shoulder belts because I just want to mount them to the floor.

I have long shoulder harness mounted to the floor in my Fiat. They stay on my shoulders pretty well but I think if I do it again I will get the ones where they are connecter to each other so they wont slip off. I used two eyebolts with big washers to attach them to the floor.

There really is no "RIGHT" way to install them to the floor. What happens is that in an impact or roll over you stand a good chance of either breaking your collar bones or compressing your spin, due to the angle that the straps run at when mounted to the floor. There are options out there. You can put in a mounting bar behind the seat, similar to the cross bar in a cage. Or if you can fab up a way to mount the strap as far back and high as possible, maybe near where the rear seat belts are mounted you will reduce the angle and the chance of the belt doing damage. Now on tot he other issue with a 5 point in a car with no roll bar or cage. If you are strapped in and roll the car you will be crushed between the roof and seat. A regular seat belt would allow you to slid down in this instance, but a 5 point will not. This is why I don't recommend and will not install them in a car with no bar/cage.
