The phrase "old school" is warn out, but that's where I came from. For the life of me I didn't know the speedometer was computerized, and not gear driven.

There are only two four letter words that are offensive to men
-'don't' and 'stop', unless they are used together == 'don't stop'!
( just a joke )

this is how you get a ticket...its off by a percent not an actual number...maybe 3.5 @60 MPH...but if you are going 2 MPH you are not in fact going 5.5, if you have a GPS app or unit you could measure it that way and get some hard numbers till you get it corrected...

For some reason I had thought he had mentioned a speed in his question, but yes the difference I was referring to is highway speed. I am aware it's a ratio (%) and not a set number. A difference of 3.5 mph @ 60 is negligible, and cops around here don't even give a second look until you're going closer to 10 over. You can use that small difference as a "buffer zone" (follow the speed limit on your speedo and you're golden), as long as you keep your wits about you.
