where is the crank position sensor located on my 2000 ls1 camaro the guy at the dealer said it was behind the water pump i got it off but its not right there i think its under the timing chain cover but if its not i dont wanna take off the cover for no reason so anyone know where its at exactly ? my haynes manual just sucks. and the good manuals are over 100$ so if anyone knows where it is or where i can fid the complete car shcematics that would be great.

I am pretty sure it is at the back of the block, I know that the reluctor wheel is on the back of the crank, since I have had mine apart completly, I just can't remember which side it is on. There will be a plug going to it and it is on the block. There are no sensors behind the water pump or rear cover.
