Default 1996 Camaro Security system problem

I have a 1996 Camaro 3.8 v6 that the security light blinks and the car will not turn over. What do I need to do?

I had thesame thinghappenwith a96 I oncehad, same circumstances. The security system thought the car was getting jacked. Did you try pulling the key out and waiting about ten minutes before trying to start it again?

I had a similair situation in my 92, I had recently had a key made, and I spent a grand to have the chip reader replaced, and it turns out it was just the key.

Try your spare key or a new key first. Many times the pellet in the keygoes bad or the pelletcontacts in the ignition switch or wiring in the steering column get flaky.

Get a key made at a dealership! May cost a lil more, but they can get it right!
