My Neighbor has an 89 Camaro with 77,000 miles. At least that's what the speedo says.
The body has only softball size dent. the interior is junk.
The Air conditioner and heater don't work, (hopefully something minor).

OK Should I buy it? Is the 305 a good engine? I know $300.00 is not alot of money, but I don't want to spend alot of money on constant repairs.
I read somewhere that this car has 170 HP. That doesn't seem like very much for a V8 engine.
He is asking $300.00. Does anyone have any advice for me with this limited amount of data.

Thanks

hey, sounds like a deal too good to pass up to me! but,it really depends on how much you're willing to spend to fix what needs to be fixed. and it also depends on what you're gonna be using it for.....show, strip, street. i have an 89 RS also, and she's my driver car...in fact she's my only car!and i wouldn't trade for anything! since they stopped production, any camaro is considered a collectible in my book, so even if you wanted to buy it from the guy, fix the interior and sell it again, you could get a bundle more than what you got for. is the engine sound??

id deffinatly say thats a good deal if its got the 305.....and as far as power im guessing the carb and intake would hold back quite a few pony's.Go With the edelbrock air gap intake and like a 750 carb.interior can be done prettys inexspensive..go check out a few place prob like 500 to re do all the seats

whoa slomaro, no wonder yours is slow if your recomending a 750 on a 305! I owuldn't use it as anything more than a daily driver unless you plan on swapping to something other than a 305. 170 hp is or is at least very close to what it has stock and it is a low number, that is because it's a 305. sounds like minor issues that shouldn't take too much to fix and one hell of a deal.

yes it is a 305 but you can still make 300 hp w/ a 305. get anew carb, intake , aluminum heads, alum. rods and a good tune up and you will be well on your way.

though you could prolly part out the car and make more money then you spent on it.
