Default 1967 Camaro Disc Brakes

I am installing a new disc brake kit onto my 1967 Camaro SS and wondered if I should replace the ball joints while I have the spindle removed. The top and bottom feel tight but seem stiff to swivel. If I do replace the joints, what special tools will I need other than the splitter fork. I was going to go for the 2" dropped spindles but my tires would be really close to the fender well. Is cutting a coil or two off of the spring considered a bad thing to do? I only want to drop the front about an inch. Thanks!!!

depends if the balljoints have been changed before, they should be tight. you can cut one coil to lower it safely. I cut one coil off of mine. I love the way it looks. you can see mine here if you like
