I would stay at 93, but 100 wont hurt it.

What do you think you are getting from that? If you went 50/50 you would just be getting 101 octane. But you don't do that. You run less 111oct so its not increasing the 91by anything really.

just dont run leaded fuel. it WILL damage engine sensors. as for octane, the higher the "better", however a stock or even midly modified engine wont make any use of the extra anti-knock capacity. Thats all octane really is. unless you are running a huge nitrous shot, boost, or lots of timing i would say forget it and just run 91-93 depending on what you have available.

The car was optimized by the factory to run on premium. Using 100 octane won't hurt as long as it is unleaded, but because the engine does not have the compression to utilize the extra octane of the slower burning fuel, andit may wind up making less power. In any event, 100 octaneit is a waste of money on a stock engine, even if the spark timing is optimized for it. You can only use so much spark advance, even if there is no spark knock, before the engine starts losing power instead of making more.

[&:] bluovlh8er youll need to listen to the engine. if you drive like grandma you may get away with the low or medium octane and avoid detonation. if however you drive like the rest of us lt1 owners and use the power on tap once in a while id recommend the 91-92 octane to avoid the destructive detonation. in my experience this is what the engine likes to eliminate any spark knock kurt

the lt1 should have the ability for KR. you probably wont hear knock, but you will lose power with low octane as the computer pulls timing
