But what kind of tires is that car on Norm. Once you start hooking hard the damage will come. My car is already showing signs of problems and I only drag radials and have less than 400 rwhp, plus 4th gens are stiffer than 2nd gens.

My car has cracks on both sides from street tires and just playin around killing some street tires. It could be the extra torque from the big block, but it didnt take long to twist up. i havn't put the sub frame connectors in yet. but should have.

Yep, I will go ahead and do the sub frame connectors and see how that does. My horsepower range is going to be less than 400 for now anyways, but I do plan to use slicks when I go to the track. Plus this 400 small block I have is not just stock either. It will turn up more than your standard 400 cause of the12 to 1 dome tops on5.7" rods froma 350 engine. It also will still be pushing around 10.5 to 1 compression with the cast iron heads I have on it. Cam is pretty beefy also, and I plan to run a mild stall converter also. It also has Hooker long tube headers and Edelbrock Performer intake with 750 Edelbrock carb. I dont have any good way of Dyno testing this setup, but this same engine with a set of Bowtie heads and super big roller cam was pulling the front wheels and carrying them for 60ft. down the track when it was in a stock 69 Camaro body and running in the mid 6's, so its got plenty of torque availableto throw out there as I get the $$$ to get the heads I need and upgrade the cam/lifters.

I hate to add the extra weight of a cage if I dont have to. Our local 1/8th mile strip requires a cage only for cars that run 7 sec. or lower, which I dont think I have to worry about with my engine setupright now.
