racing for the first time on April 14
So im going to be legally drag racing my Camaro Z28 LT1 A4 on April 14 for the first time. Its an 1/8th mile track so its all about the launch and they don't allow burnouts(stupid I know). So my question is how do I get the best launch out of my car? Im running in the stock class so I cant put slicks on or anything like that.

I've been told just to practice and get familar with the car and how it launches. I've never been to the track either but hopefully i'll get to ride over to san antonio on the 15th and see what my SS runs down the 1/4 mile. Let me know what works best for you.

old post
Yeah that was an old post and I think I meant may but it was so long ago. I did pretty good. I placed 6th out of 42. I lost to a ZO6 Corvette by about a foot and I lost to a 2000 something grand prix by a bumper. That thing was alot faster then I thought it would be. But at least I beat about 10 Mustangs. I found to get my best launch I would stage my car up to about 2000 rpms and give her gentle but constent pressure to the gas on the way down the track to keep from spinning to much.
