Default Finally got the six banger in the 13's

Got my spec stage 3 clutch in, and went to play. Boy, this thing sure likes the slicks, so much fun to drive it with them too. Need the right wheels for them though, mine are too narrow, and stick out about 2 inches. Heavy too, but it's a project, it'll get there.

Anywho, had a pile of personal bests,

60- 1.792
1/8- 8.799
mph- 79.25
1/4- 14.039
mph- 93.71

60- 1.818
1/8- 8.858
mph- 78.28
1/4- 13.909
mph- 97.38

Think the rear end is coming apart though, coming home the howl was so loud that I had to put my helmet on (got some funny looks, lol, forgot my ear plugs), and it STILL made my head hurt. It's a new sound, very rotational, like there's a damaged tooth or something. Also need to figure out why it started rolling at the tree with the clutch in on my last run of the night, thinking that fluid in the line (close to the header) is getting hot, or the stock slave can't handle the heavy pressure plate on this clutch. Anywho, finally got my time slip I wanted, I think it has more, just have to fix the bugs and learn how to drive it with these tires. I think I can get a better 60' than that 1.79, should be able to get it down further if I launch it harder. Meh, just made the 13 second club. Still had the sway bar on, spare tire/jack in, my street wheels on the front, the works.

Not bad for a naturally aspirated mildly built V6 There's more still, I'm betting on sinking further into the 13's N/A after I get the bugs worked out, and get better suspension.

lol, I dunno man, still trying to figure out where this engine wants me to shift. the stock tach is pissing me off, gonna go aftermarket with a light so I can focus better. the stocker isn't very accurate.

She's got more still, gonna buy some 4.56 gears soon, screw my 4.10's, lol. I want a 1.70 60' time with at least that mph I ran on the 13.9 pass, gotta be good for mid 13's. Runs like a champ though, first time I've driven it and have it not choke on gas up top.

Here's my favorite part, I'm gonna say screw power adders, I'm shooting for 12's NA with some machine work and a nasty cam THEN I'll spray it, v6's are slow my ***, I'm just getting warmed up. This car is 2 seconds faster than it was stock with a mild cam, gears/locker, full exhaust, tune, and tires, a few supporting mods too of course, but it's really a basic build when you break it down. Finally not un-employed, working at coughtoyotacough. So things will be progressing here within 2 months.

Hi, my name is Steve, and I'm addicted to 231 cubic inch v6's. I have problems with whooping V8 backside, and laughing at people who ask why my car has a miss at idle yet don't understand that it's a lope'n 6.

My first pass of the season:

Oh, and I like to drive Fords too Someone help me!

lol, I dare ya to find a single mod for the 3800 that I don't know about

Plan is to raise compression to 10.5:1 via machining heads, 4.56 gears, hoosier do6 slicks (26x9x15), and a nasty custom cam. I want it to run solid 12's NA, then I'll go from there, thinking about spraying a 100 shot when it gets there, and try for low 12's. Some of the work will be in suspension, need to ditch the strano-bilstein auto-x valved shocks, also going to install light weight carpet, kirkey seats, etc.

impressive for a V6, you'd beat quite a few stock ls1s with newbie drivers
