like pete said, you want to chirp your tires 3-5 times basically. just enough so you arent bogging.

and if you dont have a TC button, you dont have it.

 

if you can count the chirps you are hopping and you need to get out of it fast
if you hear the tires for anything over a half second you are wasting time.

 

i chirp my ions tires 3-4 times going into 2nd gear, but it doesnt hop. when my ion hops, you'll feel it. (which btw, it doesnt hop anymore.. but traction bars in, but it still chirps 2nd and 3rd.

and i dunno bout his camaro, but with my 3.8 and the gears & posi i had, if the only chirped once or twice, or spun for like half of a second, it bogged right down afterwards. i had to make sure they chirped till about 3000 RPMs(which usually ended up being 3 or 4 chirps) before it wouldnt bog down.

 

I bet its just my lack of good rear end and terrible tires lol.
I've had to launch it at about 1500-1800 RPMs to just chirp it once at the start.

Yenko, did your 3.8 come with that rear end? Or did you put it in yourself?

 

My car comes standard with TC as did all 99 V6 Camaros... TC is engaged only when in [D] which lets one wheel spin while the other is used to push the car. If you drop it into D, then TC is disabled and both wheels squeak (not much power to spin em :P) and take off. TC just limits the power to one wheel so that it will push the car forward rather than sit and roast both of them to nothing lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong though
