Very nice right up. The only catch is at the end with the 200 MPH vette vs the top fuel. At 200 MPH the vett will cover a 1/4 mile distance in some wear around 2.5-3.0 seconds if i am not mistaken.

I calculated 4.5 seconds for the vette if you assume 200 is the top speed.

1320ft/200mph *(1mile/5280ft) * (3600sec/hr) = 4.5 on the money.

Your post bring to mind a log time ago when Richard Petty was king and the NASCAR boys went road racing at Bridgehampton in Long Island, NY. Bridghampton was a beautiful road course with all sorts of turns and dips around the sand dunes. The NASCAR boys got tired of making all those silly turns and started taking shortcuts through the dunes. In no time they carved out an oval through the sand. At the end of the race there was a lot of confusion as to who won, but all racers said they had a good time.

Pro-stock head design is a closely held secret by each team, and every year they get a little faster. (Current ET record is 6.528 seconds, and top speed is 211.69 MPH). The best part is that they usually finish the race, unlike the fuel cars, where many times one car either blows up, loses traction, or otherwise stops before the end of the race.

And you can vote for GM since they are required to run a factory produced block!

yes top fuel still runs 1000ft. i didnt read page 2 but a fact i learned watching one night is that a top fuel car launches hard enough to rip the retna off your eye. that being said i would love to race these things for a living
