I missed you guys!
Hey y'all! My car was under the knife for over a year, so I forgot to come back and visit. Well, I finally got her going, and she's healthy.
For those of you that aren't familiar with Grrtrude, she's a base model neon. The latest build has her making over 500 at around 22psi of boost, and with a few changes in management, up to around 700. It's around 2300lbs with me in it, so it's a damn rocket.
My buddy at work just picked up a new SS2 or 2SS or whatever it is. Beautiful car. It makes me want to make sweet, sweet love to it.
Anyway, we both live about 45 minutes from work, and we both take the same highways. So I brought the toy car to work. All roll races unfortunately, as his car would be so much better from a dig.
First run: 75mph or so roll. He honked it off and went. I hit it and had enough RPM to get it to spool up pretty quick, so he only nudged about a car in front of me. To 120mph, 5 cars or so. I couldn't hook up at all.
Second run: We had more room this time, but started from a 65 or so roll. He honked it off again, and grabbed like 3 cars on me while I built enough RPM to boost. To 140, 3 busses. My car finally hooked up at about 125 and shot out way ahead.
Third run: I gave him a little more room. 70 roll or so. He grabbed a bus in front of me while I shifted and rolled into 3rd. To 120, only had him by like 2 cars. I left the boost down low for this one.
Fourth run: This is when I discovered I had left my alternator belt somewhere on the highway. Car was hacking and coughing so bad I couldn't even accelerate. He pulled behind me and let me sit in his comfortable and sexy car for an hour while we waited for a tow.

Agreed. I have R comps on it now, and they are OK, but are more designed as autocross tires so the sidewalls are stiff. I also have drag slicks, but they don't work so well on the street just because I can't turn on them.
