RE: GTI times
Went to the track today with the camaro we also took the GTI up to the track didnt even unhook the camaro did 2 back to back runs with the GTI. Temp 80 to 85, moderate humidity no cool down time ran as it was pulling into the gate. He was sharing driving/ spotting duties in the Camaro so the GTI was not high on the agenda. We did not pick the racethe guy pulled up to us I dont really know what a mazda 3 is it didnt look stock but I dont know the guy didnt interview him or didnt tech his car. The GTI is 100 % stock I dont even think the tires were changed he bought it brand new. The GTI ran a 9:14 and backed it up with a 9:16 back to back passes. There were no Cobalt SS SC there and only one SS Camaro and a ton of other cars. I taped the gti runs but I didnt run the camera real well so sorry about that I didnt know what I was doing with it. Also my brother put it on you tube not me I would not have used the titles he used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYt842_V9do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFHxUmtZvrM
Also he does no burnout with this car and the track is not sprayed with VHT.

As i said conversion charts are not accurate at all but here is a round about taken off of a forum.
Times from cobaltss.net conversion chart is from geocities.com
1.)madeinUSA,14.06@99.34 w/2.18 60' 9.0
2.)Tofu,14.12@97.29 w/2.00 60' 9.05
3.)STG2BALT,14.16@99.94 w/2.21 60' 9.07
4.)R&C_rallySS,14.24@100.06 w/2.23 60' 9.12
5.)Julex,14.29@99.60 w/2.19 60' 9.17
6.)X3r0,14.34@97.81 w/2.23 60' 9.19
As i said there are freaks that have run 13.9s out there a pass better then 14.03 would put the car into the 13s according to the charts. However the chart does not do the cobalt very well since it is based on a average. If the cobalt finds bit at a good RPM it launches hard that is how it pulls good 60 times making it even stronger in the 1/8

RE: GTI times
if ur driving it hard ur trying. little tricks to help pull off that ever so sought after .01 seconds not withstanding. unless hes stopping for tea midtrack hes trying. Its like me saying I wasnt trying my last time out because I didnt full tub and run 15" slicks. are you ready to actually start discussing these cars or would you like to continue to split hairs and use each half as a backassed argument?
