Drag Strip
I was up in Epping last Sarturday and ran poorly but ran. Just wondering if I should be dumping the clutch off the line or not? If I should be how much should this clutch take without failing? I always worry about dumping the clutch and wearing it out.

Well it was my first time to ever run and was nervs got the best of me. I ran an 18 1/4. Couldn't get it into 2nd gear. Tried to force it in with no luck. So I skipped it. Not good. Tried to get another run in but didn't have time. So I'm looking to go back and run a 15 to 16 1/4 mile. I'm pretty sure that's possible with what I have. Was trying to get an idea on what I need to do for upgrades since I just got this car 2 months ago.
Looking for a 3:73 rear end if anybody knows of one in the MA/NH area. Looking for a used one on the cheap.

Ya it's a 1980 Camaro Z28. I think it's stock. So I would guess it's got the 3:09's in the rear. looks like he guy put in Elderbrock Carb, Intake, Headers, Glass packs straight out. So it should move better with a new rear end I would think. I like the Air Induction hoods they head on these pretty cool.

well the thing about the gears is you will get more acceleration but lose top end if you are using it for drag racing some 373s or 410s are better than the highway gears they came with but if your using it on the road i would go with the 373s

Ya I think 373's would be good since I used it for both. So I would assume you mean the $600.00 was just for the labor? How much did you pay for the whole rear end? I got a baby on the way so money is a little tight. So the cheaper the better. I'm waiting to hear back from Camaro Heaven in Tilton NH on the 3:73's. But if you can let me know how you paid I can use that as a guide.

no thats them instaling it parts labor freight everything. i brought my old rear end in off the car the and the put new seal new bearings and the gears in and used the old axels. they were great but i brought it in right before race season so it toke like 1 1/2 weeks. i would just shop around at some places and it shouldnt be that hard to pull out the rear end mines 4 link so it ended up being like 11 bolts or something
