Yesthe first and second generationGST'sare turbo. No try 15.2 to 14.7 Bone stock gsx the loss a little bit of power but they nearly make up for it in traction and doesn’t loss that much time. They do very a little from first and second gen and also what options they are sporting but both cars are low 15 second high 14 second cars stock in good condition. The none turbo DSM's that sport the 420a tend to run mid 16 seconds stock and once again in fair condition. If he no longer running the BOV the car is going to be a lot stronger and the fact that the Side mount isn’t being over heat soaked from the high boost makes him even more of a danger.

GST is turbo right? well those are GST's 1/4mile time, the GSX's were 15.8. he's also got about 300-400 pounds of stereo, and he isnt pushing 18PSI ne more on the new engine, or so he sais, and yes he did have a BC, dont know if he does still, he got it and a BOV for 300 bucks, but i think the BOV went with the old engine.. and the new engine is the same as the stock engine.. just new, lol, he got a brand "new" (had like 20kmi on it) for 1 grand.
also, the stock 3.8 vs stock eclipse is pretty much a drivers race, with camaro havign the edge. and my camaro wasnt stock, not highly modded, but not stock. just like i barely lost, a nose length, to a AWD talon, from a dig.
but ne way.. found a t3 Turbo for like 800 i mite buy and have installed, that'll put me above his HP and TQ. then save for my next camaro

so, he's back down to stock times with new engine? ive taken a couple of rides with him in it, and when he did his BOV and BC, it did feel faster, and i only raced him once, but i think i woulda beat him even more had he had the stock settings and all..
oh, and even though it looks it, his car is not in great shape. he's got paint flaking off it everywhere, panels falling off, etc, only nice part is the fact that it's got a "new" engine in it.

[:@]Running 18 psi on a stock side mount is not good for the 4g63 the intercooler can not cool the air charge and it actually heat soaks the intercooler to the point that it no longer cools the air charge this actually will cause the ecu to respond bad because of the air temp senior will freak out and cause your air to fuel to be off as well. The 4g63 is very freaky when it comes to its AF. Second a brand new engine doesn’t have the where that an engine with over 160K has on it and will produce better performance that’s a given right. Ok for the BOV it causes a surge that the ECU is not expecting. The sudden loss in air of the pressure being released will cause the engine to run rich when the pressure is released. This will cause the engine to bog and will actually cause some extraturbo lag.
i know what your saying, but i dont know if he had a upgraded cooler or a tune or not, just saying that when i went for a ride in it, it felt stronger when he upped the boost, and i dont think the kid is THAT stupid, he's majorly into DSM, and works at a shop. and i know that a 160kmi engine isnt gonna be as strong as the original, but i raced him with the camaro when he had the "new" engine, not when he had the other. when he had the other (was in 06 it blew) he had bought the BC and BOV for 300, used it, and i know he toasted the the BOV on the old engine, but all i know when i ran him with my camaro was that he claimed he was pushing 18PSI, i knew nothing else about it. sorry if i was confusing earlier. the same engine is still in it that i raced with the camaro. he (last i knew anyway) has the new engine set up the same as the old one, except after we raced he said he turned the boost back down to stock because he didnt wanna detonate another engine. and his excuse also wasnt for running bad. it was "i didnt know we were racing" even though afterwards he told me he had it tuned to 18PSI and etc for the race.. he had to make a excuse up.
again, i have no idea if he is tuned or not, or if he has a new IC, he wont tell me any of that, just that he WAS running 18PSI, and that now he's back to stock settings. or so he claims.

It looks like he still has the stock side mount. I can’t see a front mount and you usually have to trim the bumper and possibly remove the fog lights to fit it. I don’t know what turbo kit you’re talking for 800 bucks with a t3. Most of the bolt on ion 2.2 kits use a t25 or a 16G. The cars don’t respond well to high boost and usually put down around 170 on low boost none IC and around 200 with a good front mount and tuning. There are some of the higher end kits with front mount intercooler, fuel control, injectors and tuning running in around 215 to 225 but you’re talking about spending close to 3500 to 4500 bucks in parts and more for labor and then dyno tuning to keep it from becoming a grenade.
found a guy on a forum that said a T3 turbo with .48 a/r would put me around 200WHP with a small generic intercooler over where the CAI filter goes. and i found the turbo on a website through google for i think 850. then just have to mount it and what not. and i was gonna run around 7PSI to get that. and yea, obviously im going to tune, the other road i was thinking was full exhaust, a mediocre cam, and a 75, maybe 100 shot with tune.
but was told the turbo would do best, theres one guy with a mid-high 13 sec 2.4 ION doing around 250WHP and 280WTQ. i dont know if he's boosting or not though. i know he has a 75shot.
i dont wanna spend much on my ION, just enough to beat him mainly, cuz i still want it as a DD car! lol. oh, and they also have articles on what the 2.2 can handle. if properly tuned/done can run 300WHP and TQ easily on stock internals, from boost, but CANNOT break the 6500 redline, after that they get major valve float.
