just curious, how do you guys think my ION would do against a Turbo Eclipse?

my car is around 155-160BHP, weighs around 2700-2800, and has roughly 150TQ, the eclipse is bone stock with new motor and a bunch of apperance mods. so it's like 210BHP, on about 3300-3400 pounds and i think it's around 140TQ. i beat this kid with my 3.8 by about 2-3 cars, but he had the excuse of "i didnt know we were racing" even though i could here is engine and BOV over my exhaust and stereo. and he had a brand new engine put in his (he detonated the original that had 163kmi on it, being a idiot, i mean he detonated, blew hood off and everything, holes in piston heads etc.) he was also pushing 18PSI instead of the stock 13-14PSI when i raced him in the camaro, or so he claims, even though "we didnt race"

by the time we race, if we race, i'll prolly have a exhaust system of somesort, and already have a CAI, thinking about putting either the 2.4's crank in it(that is only diff between the 2.2s and the 2.4s) or a mild cam(yea, they actually make it for this car.. well 2 of them, DOHC)

dont even know if ill race him yet, havent beat on this car at all yet really, just a smoke show here and there, and a few rolling races(this would be from a dig). but the kid always talked trash to my camaro, just cuz it was a v6, then i showed him up, then sold camaro, then he started making fun of ION (i think it's cuz he's jealous, his car =3500, mine =11000)

im thinking it'd end up being a driver's race (and this kid isnt that good at shifting at all, i had to teach him how to slip shift and power shift).

ill post a pic of his car soon, atm it's undergoing construction, cops pulled him over doing 140, and started to pull car away and the hood blew off(cuz cops accidently popped it, and it's a CF hood) and broke windshield, hood, scratched whole top of car, broke spoiler, etc. he got outta the ticket/offence and got paid for it tho lol.

stock a eclipse is 16.6, ION is 16.1, redline is 15.3, Cobalt SS is 14.4(even though ION and Cobalt are the EXACT same car....)and 3.8 camaro is 15.5. jus looked it up

jus wanted to race this kid cuz he's a retard, thinks he can take out my dad's vette with the eclipse.....and his eclipse is only a 95 BTW.

 

They are thinking of the new eclipse which will smoke you, or at least i think they are. That 94 will have to keep up with the ion haha.

 

First off you said turbo eclipse that’s not a 16.6 second car [>:]. Try high 14s low 15s stock. A second generation GST FWD is around 3100 pounds the GSXAWD is around 3300 pounds.You may not be hearing a true blow also. Also 18 psi is not that much on a 4g63 its pushing what most people would run with out supporting mods but it has been done that also means he has a boost controller or some sort of spring mod so its not stock. You’re looking at around 180 TQ give or take. If he is running 18 psi with no mods he is just blowing hot air with the stock side mount. And if he is running a after market BOV and not recirculating it. It could cause the engine to run rich and bog bad between shifts. That was probably the only reason you beat him so bad in the 3.8. Now with the new engine its probaly a hole new car and i dont see the ion standing a snow ***** chance in hell.[:@]

 

GST is turbo right? well those are GST's 1/4mile time, the GSX's were 15.8. he's also got about 300-400 pounds of stereo, and he isnt pushing 18PSI ne more on the new engine, or so he sais, and yes he did have a BC, dont know if he does still, he got it and a BOV for 300 bucks, but i think the BOV went with the old engine.. and the new engine is the same as the stock engine.. just new, lol, he got a brand "new" (had like 20kmi on it) for 1 grand.

also, the stock 3.8 vs stock eclipse is pretty much a drivers race, with camaro havign the edge. and my camaro wasnt stock, not highly modded, but not stock. just like i barely lost, a nose length, to a AWD talon, from a dig.

but ne way.. found a t3 Turbo for like 800 i mite buy and have installed, that'll put me above his HP and TQ. then save for my next camaro
