Default Budget engine

We got our budjet 350 together and made a few runs with it on kelly street tires and a loose automatic. It is a hand honed reringed cast piston used cam junkyard vortec head engine. It ran a best of 8.91 on the 1/8th I think it can get below 8:50 with some slicks traction bars and a better tune, its slow but for a $600 engine a lot of fun even if I lost LOL.<center>

It will get better with some tuning and breaking in. Having fun is the idea, good luck with it.

We have a 406 for it but I want to get the electronics and suspention working better plus I am still waiting for the th400. I think the 600 carb is holding the 350 back some plus I had the rev limiter set for 5200 rpm and we were not even touching it. I seem to be haveing some issues either with the dist or the crane ignition the timing really seems eratic it might be the multi spark messing with the light . I am going to put a rundown on this in the engine section to not clutter this section up.

I put on a set of traction bars, 29 x 10 slicks, a trans go shift kit and adjusted the timing we took it to the strip today and it ran a best of 8.21 (1/8th mile) backed it up with a few more low 8.20s. I think with some additional tweeking the car might see the 7s, the engine seems to fall off a bit when it hits third gear I think it is either to small of carb or I am not winding it out enough in second butoverall it was a nice day at the track.

This one is 660 there is no track prep other than what the racers spray down but the advantage is on a normal day is costs $10 for all day I could run 20 times if I wanted to.This past sunday it was$15 with a chance to win $400 + a racing torque convertor built however you want.... we only went two rounds though untill I screwed up lol.
