ive been a member for quite some time and all i ever read are 3rd and 4th gen camaros racing..any 1st and 2nd gen camaro racing stories?

 

a few years ago, my dads friend use to have a 1980 z28, with a mild cam, headers ect, th350 with a shift kit and manual valve body, 12 bolt with 3.73's.

(i was in my dads old truck watching the race)

a 1988 mustang (non gt with a 5.0 swapped in it) that the guy said had bolt ons, DR's, and stock gears..was revving him motor trying to get him to race, so he agreed..the light turned green and they both go, the camaro had slight traction problems but since it had the factory stall TC the trans came with he didnt launch to hard, the mustang pulled at the start but the maro slowly pulled ahead..the guy was cool, they looked at eachothers cars, the guy in the mustang said "this is the last race with the stock motor befor i put a nitrous/ bored out, 302 in it..

sadly my dads friend had to sell the camaro cuz they were moving and had no room for it

 

oh that sucks ls1 but a sounds like a nice maro..im surprised no ricers or anybody has tried to race me lol my car is slow as heck right now(until i get my 383 ) with only the 305 in it..so i could easily get taken but it must be the dual exhaust that scares them lol or they just dont know if its an older maro with the more hp and tq lol

 

lol, well..most ricers figure there bada$$ cuz they have vtec or nos stickers on there cars..but the smart ones know if the other car is fast or not..
