Try the Tulsa or Stillwater Craigslist, I found 2 cars I bought through that and you can check my garage to see what I paid for them, I will tell you it was less than a grand for both. You can really find some good deals if you take your time and have a way of getting them back home ie; trailer, wench, etc. Sure you will have to do some work and get your hands dirty, but you can do it. Forget about an LT1 swap in your V-6, that is definetely a PITA and not really worth it. Good luck!

Whichever, he is relatively close to that area and for some reason there are a lot of 4th gen cars in that area. I found a lot of V6 cars with or without engines and complete LT1 and LS1 cars as well. Another good source for T/A's and Formulas is the Wichita Ks. craigslist., again relatively close to him. Granted they mostly have problems of one kind or another, but he can pickup a good project for cheap. Either place would be a day trip and there have been some interesting deals listed on all 3.
