Ugh so now I need to find a 3800 for less than $4000 (impossible around here) FML!!!

I wouldn't put all of that into a 3.4 liter. All of that money that you into this motor is not going to have a good return in terms of power gains, like Evil has already stated.

Honestly... I'd look for an LT1 if I were you. They can also be had cheap these days. Try craigslist.
