Well my block is no good, it's cranked.....
....but my machinist/engine builder has the same casting number block (not that it matters) that has already been bored .030" over. He said it will clean up nice if he bores it to .040" over. The block has already been maged and cleaned. He'll give it to me for $40.
I'll have $610 invested in the block after I buy it and have it machined. He's going to bore and torque plate hone the cylinders, true the decks, align hone the mains and use ARP main Bolts, install new cam bearings and freeze plugs.

I did and money wise he's about average. He does outstanding work and he'll stand behind it as well. Plus if I run into any problems with my other components he'll help me out.

Ya got me! I'm sure he's only selling me the block so cheap because I'm having him do all the machine work. Plus I've known him for 20 years or so.
