Default turbo 350 tranny

i'm looking to put a th350 tranny into my 81 camaro, my friend just bought one that was just rebuilt about 10k miles ago, but the only problem, is that it is a 4wd tranny, now here's the question, would i be able to use that tranny since its a 4wd tranny, if yes or no, please give me a reason as to why, i trying to catch up on things but thats just one topic that i not sure about, any feedback would be appreciated.

GM 4x4 transmissions are married to the transfer case. That means they are bolted together. The 4x4 trans has a different output shaft and tail housing. The interior parts however, are interchangable. A 4x4 trans can be converted if you have the parts and want to put the time into it.
