Default Is there room?

I'm wanting to start a project Camaro and am trying to get a list started for parts and components. The main question I'm running into is "Is there enough room in the engine bay for a 540 CID motor?"

Any input would be welcome and appreciated.

Any big block Chevy will bolt in those years and there's lots of headers and other parts available.
Not sure about '70 but '67-'69 (first gen) you'll need a big block heater conversion if you want a heater and you are building an original small block car.
The heater hose connections will be behind the right cylinder head with no room to hook up hoses if you leave the stock small block heater in the car.
Other than that it's pretty straight forward to slip in a big block, heavier front springs wouldn't be a bad idea but I left the stockers in my old '69 and it drove fine with a 427 stuffed in it.
