All sorts of things. Change crank, change pistons, plus everything else that is usually needed for a rebuild. Suggest you buy a book on modifying the Chevy small block.

Buy a rotating assembly, take the bare block to the machine shop...have them bore the block I go with between .0035-.004 piston to wall clearance for the tss gapless rings. Buy rings, bearings (mains, rods, and cam) take all of this to the machine shop with the wristpins spiro-locks (or whatever locks in the wristpin on the r-a you have. They will clearance the block for you (easier) or you can do it yourself (pm me and I will tell you how) The machine shop will have the stuff they need to then balance the rotating assembly for you. Then all that is left is assembly. That will pretty much take care of the short block. There are several clearances to know and check along the way.

Thanks 383Stro. Do you recommend anything as far as parts? An if you can let me know the clearances I would appreciate it. I'm a newbie with doing internals with engines so anything would help. Thanks again.
