Question Raising the redline?

How do I make the redline on a car higher? Say from 5000 to 7500. I don't understand how to make an engine rev higher. Might be a silly question but something I haven't been able to get a straight answer for. Thanks

you cant just raise the redline... theres a reason its at 5500 because at 7500 youll blow your motor to hell if you want 7500 get a DOHC engine or rotary

I realize it can't just be raised. I'm wondering what is needed to be done to raise it.

everything internal needs to be replace with performance forged parts but your problem is the pushrods they start to fail around 6000

It has to be built for it. Abalanced forged rotating assembly that wont fly apart. a cam that will produce power at that RPM backed up by heads and valves springs and keepers that wont fly apart! Ive "accidently" turned 8,000 on my old 500 stroker BBC a couple times at the mud bogs and got lucky so it can be done, but I rarly ever went over 7,000 as I had no need to

Impossible to give you an answer without knowing what engine we're talking about here.
Different engines have different potentials, and/or drawbacks.

The only thing that's needed to literally raise the redline is a tune... but you'll destroy your motor.
