Default New 78 Camaro project!

I just bought a 78 Camaro. It has a 350 4 bbl. auto tranny with a 8.5 open diff. rear end. I'm going to drive it while I do all the work I want to do to it. The car is going to be a weekend/daily driver. If it's nice out, we'll drive the Camaro.

I want to build a mild 383 stroker for it. I want to use cast iron heads. I've looked at the heads below.

GM Performance Parts-
Vortec Bowtie, Small Port Cylinder Heads 185cc intake runners, 65cc exhaust runners, 66cc combustion chambers, 2.00" intake, 1.55" exhaust valves.

Dart-
Iron Eagle 180, 180cc intake runners, 75cc exhaust runners, 64cc or 72cc combustion chambers, 2.02" intake, 1.60" exhaust valves.

World Products-
S/R Torquer Cylinder Heads, 170cc intake runners, I don't know the exhaust runners size, 2.02", 1.60 valves, 66cc or 76cc combustion chambers.

Racing Head Service has a bunch of different heads as well.

I'm going to buy a Scat cast crank, 4340 steel rods and forged pistons kit. With the above mentioned heads I should be able to keep my compression ratio anywhere from 8.6:1 with 76cc chamber head to 9.6:1 with 64cc chamber heads. 9.5:1 would be the best.

Camshaft is going to be a hydraulic flat tappet. I want operating range to be from 1,500 to 5700-6000 RPMs. I'm thinking duration @ .050" should be around 226°-228° intake and 234°-236°. Valve lift .480-.500 intake and .500-.520 exhaust on a 110 to 112 center.

I'm going to use a Edelbrock Performer RPM intake (even the Vortec Bowtie). I'll probably go with a Holley 3310 750 vac. secondary carb.

Headers and exhaust-
Headmen Headers full length headers. Not sure if I should go with 1 5/8" tubes or 1 3/4" tubes. They're both 32 inches long with 3 inch collectors. I'm going with Flowmaster 17104 -American Thunder Exhaust Systems. The muffler mounts over the rear end. I used one one my other 78 Camaro and it worked pretty well.

Final drivetrain will be a TH350 with maybe a 2,500 stall converter. I'm going to put a good limited slip/posi carrier in the 8.5 10 bolt as well as gears. I don't know if I want to with 3.42's or 3.73's. I'm probably going to run the factory 15 inch Z28 wheels.
