Default LS1 Heads, Cam, and CPU

What are a good set of heads and a cam. also i heard the ls6 roller rockers are a good addition to any head. Just wondering if thats true cause my dad has a set laying around in his shop. With most new cams and heads for the ls1 i know u need to have the CPU remapped. does a Chevy dealer do this or is it better to go to a specialty tuning shop. Thanks for your time.

AFR heads are generally the best I've seen. I had a set of special order heads fro a placve called Justin Engineering or someting on my 'vette that were a bit better for Sc'd applications, but that company, whatever its name was, has gone bust. roller rockers make a lot of sense with big cams. Go with name brands though. I stick with Crower myself: we had some problems with a no-name set that we had and put on the Camaro -- I want to say it was something like Falcom, but frankly I don';t really remember -- they fit well and worked at low RPM but at the track and really high oil temps their bearings seized up, luckily without any damange to the lower end.
