Default King Performance main & rod bearings

nearly all my parts. start assembly my 355sb right now it's a toss up between Clevite bearings and King performance bearings. King makes a really strong racing bearing I know .And Clevite H bearings are top of the line .anyone know a good reason to use one over the other? the price is nesrly the same . King being a few bucks less in cost.

Griff, not sure what you mean cast or forged. my crank is eagle 4340 forged ?, the bearings are asteel backer w/ poured alecular material layer .012ths or so. The info. I have is that this poured metal techology is not used here any longer. The guys I deal with out in the mid-west both drag anr round track racers swear by them. I ck.ed up on them and didn't find anything that was bad . but there is not a lot of info. to go by . was hoping someone here had the goods on these bearings.

The only thing Ive been told is not to run the H series with a cast stock crank somthing about the bearing hardness vrs the softer cast metal and the fillit sp?radius of the stock type crank.

yes you right there , tri-metal bearings like clevite H are great across the board cast or forged. King also makes a std. bearing -These King hi-performance are just for forged cranks. i was hoping somone had unstalled and ran them.
thanks

If bottom dollar is not a worry, use the Clevite H bearings. I use them inmany applications and they are great. The King bearings are good and I use a lot of them on jobs where we are watching a tight budget.

A side note, I use the H bearings on aftermarket cast cranks all the time as most of them havea large radius and regular bearings do not work unless you do some massaging. Do not fear the H bearing.

machineman, Clevitewas just about the only bearing I ever used back in the 60's early 70's . It's only the last few years that I've heard about King Hi-perfrormnace bearings. I was wanting to know about them because of the poured metal method used in their manufacture. That was the way all bearing were made back then. Fact is I use to pour babbet bareings in the plant I worked in wayto many years ago. Mid west racers love King bearings. and it's funy but I can buy Clevite MS909H mains for the same price as the King mains?
it the info. I want . the more the better. it helps me to know all the + and - . was leaning hard to Clevite.
