Default help with piston identification

I have found a good deal on a set of forged TRW pistons that was in a 383 stroker. I was trying to find information on them but having no luck. What information I have found is contradictory to each other.

TRW L2403-030 are the numbers on the pistons. The owner said that he thinks they were 10.2:1 CR which is around what I am looking for. They look like they have a slight dish with four valve reliefs. When I see some pics or descriptions on line there are some with domes which these do not have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I saw that earlier but I don't see anything under application about a 3.75 inch stroke with a 5.7 rod. He says that they're 5.7 rods but, to my knowledge, you can't use a 5.7 rods with a 3.48 stroke and a 383/400 (3.75) stroke crank. You'd have to use the 5.565 400 stock length rods to do that since the pistons have different compression heights. Otherwise the piston comes up above the deck on compression.

I have yet to find anywhere that this part number references a 383. It's all been 350. I think the guy's talking out his *** or someone told him that they built his engine as a 383 and left it as a 350.

I think Federal Mogul bought TRW. I don't think they even use the TRW name anymore. Federal Mogul's web site sucks, I couldn't find anything I was looking for the last time I was on it. It pretty much lists all the companies they own instead of good information that we can use. You might have to call them to see if you can get some info from them. Or maybe call Summit or Jegs.

Yeah, TRW was bought by FedMo a while back was what I was told. I hate their site, it's totally useless from a customer's point of view and use.

383 pistons are lower profile than 350 pistons, thats where youre running into problems. 350 pistons will extend above the block on a 383 and cause valve clearance issues.

Yeah, I know. The compression heights are different. That's why I was trying to find the part numbers from a reliable website. I was finding the part numbers as a stock 350 but he's saying he had a 383. I think he was talking out of his *** and probably had someone sell him a stock 350 and tell him he had a 383 in it.

No worries anyway. Just bought all new forged stuffs.
