delayed throttle response
Hey guys so here is the problem. I have a 1992 camaro with a 350 smallblock th350 trans, b&m hammer shifter, 4150 holley carb. I'm having issue with the throttle response as it is delayed. I rebuilt the carb but still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Possibly torqued something wrong in the carburetor? Need help figuring this one out. Thanks

Sounds like an accelerator pump problem. Check the clearance between the adjustable bolt head on the end of the actuating lever and the pump shaft. At zero throttle, the bolt head should be flush against the pump shaft but the shaft should be fully extended.

Look into the throat of the carburetor when pushing the throttle linkage back towards the firewall. Does the primary squirter immediately shoot two streams into the venturi? If it is working correctly, try going up in squirter size to a 35 or so. If its not working correctly, your accelerator pump diaphragm probably needs replacing.

Mine would die out a bit if I punched it. When I looked in the carb one of the adjustment screws was tighten so far that it cracked the inside. So basically it had to stay all the way in and was still out of adjustment. I wanted to replace it anyway, and after doing so it was all good.
