Default Compression

Ok i'm gonna try to get explain this question the best i can. Ok i semi know about what octane, mixes, and race fuel goes with what compression in an 8 cyl. . But do these differ when say the engine is a 4 cyl. or a 6cyl. And if so can you give me some ratios with what Fuel should be used with what motor? Thanks for any info!

Default RE: Compression

The number of cyliders makes no difference. What makes a difference are compression ratio, head design, camshaft, induction set up, how the head is cooled, spark plugs used, knock sensors, and various other things. In general, up to 9:1 use regular, up to 10:1 use mid grade, over 10:1 premium, over 11:1 start thinking about racing fuel.
