I drive a 01' SS and my check engine light came on for a while, then it turned off what the hell? can anyone tell me whats wrong?

 

that could be anything. i work at a chevy dealership and i see these all the time. whatever set the code sounds like a one time system fail. being that there is no check engine light on everything is probably alright. the system will reset the light after so many ignition cycles. if you want you can take your car to a dealer and scan it for you because it should be saved in the cars history.

 

I would have this from time to time on my 6er camaro, and one day it stayed in til I got it checked. It said random misfire on one of the cylinders.

 

As 69Rat said it could be any number of things, if you know anyone with a hand held scanner it will tell what the code was, or take it to the dealer.
