caburated engine

hey, new to the forums here....

im going to be buying a 1984 camaro in a few weeks from a friend. his dad and himself are going to buy a new v6 carburated engine to put in. i dont kno anything about this type of engine so, what is the difference between caburated and normal engines?
thanks for the help

btw im getting the v6 so im not killed on insurance, im 16

the V6 will probably be just as bad as the V8 in the MPG, since its carb'd, if the car origionally had a v6 in it, you can still get that same rate if you drop a v8 in it, they go off of the Vin#
