Default Best DD engine build

I rolled a bearing in my ls1, and i've decided to build it since i have it out anyway. What I am trying to decide is my best route. Its going to be my dd, but I will also be taking it to the track every so often. I've heard an lq9 swap is a good option. Which engine would be better suited for dd use and with what set up? My budget is adjustable but I would like to keep it as affordable as possible. That being said, I am already planning on taking out a small loan so I just need to know my options. Thank you for any advice.

You've got about one of the best DD motors ever created. I'm sure even just a re-build with slightly higher compression and a different cam would be pretty decent. The scariest thing would be the loan.....in todays uncertain times why do something like that when the rebuild can be done on the cheap and be pretty awesome.

well, lets start with a couple things. Do you have any goals in mind for it? Would you like to be near a certain power level? Are you looking to do this on motor/power adder? And what does adjustable mean?

I'm with djs383. The scarey part is a loan to build a car! I've always saved my money until I had enough to pay for whatever I had planned, then proceed with that part. It takes a long time often, but I wont go in debt for a car build.
I personally would rebuild the present LS motor, and take it to the next level with a little larger cam and throttle body. Beyond that it may begin to get past the DD mode.

Agree with others here. You have a good base, rebuild it.
You already have two others for the track.
Besides, it doesn't matter how 'fast' you go, it's 'how' you go fast, and, its handicapped racing.
