so my dads giving my his old 350 out of his truck..

it needs crank turned, in gonna have the whole rotating assebly balanced, bored .30 over, decked and hoaned..i want to use vortec heads, what do i need to do to get them to where i can run a 510-540 lift cam? i herd stock springs max at 480..anyway, vortec airgap intake, headers, msd ignition, 700cfm carb, 9.5-10.0 compression pistions, and convert it to a eletric fan (has the old clutch styl fan now..)..anything else i should look into? or is that enough for 400hp?

 

You should be pretty much in the ball park.
Maybe a good street port job on the heads away from it.

 

Decent sized runners on the head, good duration on the cam and good compression with the heads/pistons.
